As a Plant Technician, you will play a crucial role in the successful operation and maintenance of our plant facility. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the growth, care, and maintenance of various plant species. You will contribute to ensuring that our plant production processes run smoothly, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Care: Monitor and maintain the health of plants by watering, fertilizing, pruning, and inspecting them regularly. Identify and address signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies promptly.

2. Propagation: Assist in plant propagation through techniques such as seeding, cuttings, and grafting to support the continuous growth of the plant population.

3. Environmental Monitoring: Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light levels to optimize plant growth and ensure ideal conditions are maintained.

4. Plant Nutrition: Prepare and administer nutrient solutions to plants, ensuring they receive the necessary minerals and elements for optimal growth.

5. Pest and Disease Control: Implement pest control measures when necessary, utilizing organic methods and minimizing the use of chemicals to maintain a healthy and sustainable plant environment.

6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of plant care activities, growth progress, and any issues encountered. Provide regular reports to management on plant health and production metrics.

7. Harvesting: Coordinate and execute the harvesting of plants according to established guidelines, ensuring proper timing and quality of the yield.

8. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on plant-related equipment, such as irrigation systems, grow lights, and climate control systems.

9. Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in plant care techniques and technologies. Contribute to research efforts to improve plant growth, disease resistance, and productivity.

10. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, maintaining a clean and hazard-free working environment. Comply with all regulations related to plant care and operation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a degree in horticulture, botany, or a related field).
• Proven experience in plant care, either through personal gardening or professional work.
• Knowledge of different plant species, their growth habits, and care requirements.
• Understanding of plant propagation techniques and greenhouse management is a plus.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment and basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.

• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
